How
to Backup Koma-Mail:
To backup Koma-Mail just
copy the whole user directory and save it somewhere else, for example on cd-rom.
To restore your backup just copy it back into Koma-Mail and start the program.
If the user does not
exist, create it and press login.
Another way is the
automatic backup function of Koma-Mail. If you activate it Koma-Mail will copy
all files into a subfolder of your user-direcotry.
Here the meaning of
the files Koma-Mail creates:
Mails:
MailHead.dat:
Information about your saved messages. Needed to read out messages from the
mail.dat
Mail.dat:
Contains all your messages as eml-file
MailAccount.dat: Like
the name says, the mail accounts are saved in there
PIM:
ContactFile.dat:
Contains your contacts
ContactGroups.dat:
The groups you created
Tasks.dat: Your task-list
Calendar.dat: Saves
your calendar entries
RSSList.dat: Your
rss-entries
Spam filter:
Bayes.dat: This file saves
the word list for the bayes filter
SpamList.dat: Mail
addresses which are marked as spam
SpamWords.dat: Contains your spam-words
Other:
FolderState.dat: Information about
your folder tree, including settings like “move after x days”
Setup.ini:
Koma-Mail saves in the setup.ini nearly all user-settings
Actions.dat: The
filter-system of Koma-Mail is saved in the actions.dat
Address.dat: This
file is used to auto-fulfill the mail-address in the editor
Column.dat: The column
order from the list view in the main window of Koma-Mail
FolderState.dat: The folder
state (expanded or not) of the folder tree
RCTemplate.dat: The reading
confirmation template
ReceiptAddr.dat: The
reading confirmation template
ReplyTemplate.dat: The
reply template
NewTemplate.dat: The new
mail template
PrintTemplate.dat: The print
template
Template.dat: All other
templates you have created
RSSFolderState.dat: The folder
state (expanded or not) of the rss-folder tree
RunCounter.dat: Just a file
which counts the runs of Koma-Mail in order to start an automatically database-optimization
