|
|
Hi I was so excited to find Koma mail as I am away from my computer a lot and would love to have my mail on my Ipod to be able to read and send mail using the other computers I work on.
Unfortunatly these are on a LAN and Koma can't connect, although it does connect at home.
I don't know anything about software. Is there perhaps a solution to this problem? |

Maybe the network is blocking the mail-ports you need?

I don't know - how do I find out and if it is, does that mean I will not be able to use Koma Mail?
Forgive me if this is a stupid question (as I mentioned I am really a dummy about how the computer works - I'm a bookkeeper) but could I use a different port or something?
It really would be marvelous to make my email, calendar, etc. portable.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. |

I'm sorry, but I don't think this is possible. If your network-admin is blocking mail-traffic it will be really hard to check for new mails.
So, what you could try is a ssl-encrypted connection over a proxy, but to be honest, I don't think this will work either...

Thanks for the reply, at least I won't waste any more time trying to figure this out..
Could I ask the network-admin to change anything to make this possible and if so, what should I ask him to change?

Sure, try to ask the admin, but only if you're allowed to check for mails while you're working
Just ask, if it is possible to download mails through a pop3 connection.
